Shot on location in Sylva, North Carolina, cinematographer Ben Davis and gaffer Ross Dunkerley were able capture an authentic small town atmosphere while creating the fictional world of Ebbing, MO. The story centers around relentless mother Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) who takes it upon herself to challenge the town’s revered chief of police, William Willoughby (Woody Harrelson), after heis unable to solve her daughter’s murder case.
Dunkerley utilized LiteRibbon, along with custom LiteRibbon panels he built himself for both beautifully lit interior and exterior shots.
