JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a responsible, dedicated and innovative Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, the new team member will be responsible for all aspects of electrical design of new products, support of existing products, product test and validation, and roadmap efforts in line with the organization’s long-term strategy. This hands-on individual will be the key focal point in ensuring standards of quality, performance and durability are met for all new product designs, collaborate internally and externally to ideate and create new technology building blocks, and embed the vision of our organization into new and exciting solutions. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, as well as keen attention to detail. The goal is to ensure that our products meet the high-quality standards expected by our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAILY ACTIVITIES

  • Develop schematic designs (mixed signal digital/analog) to capture for PCB layout and generate Gerber files and BOMs necessary for PCB assembly.
  • Requirements management and compliance for new product development and release. Generate reports and other data to document designs, testing and packages required to satisfactorily advance new or improved designs in product life cycle.
  • Interface cross-functionally to create appropriate housings that meet market needs for new products.
  • Develop engineering and production testing processes for new lighting controls or light emitting products.
  • Guide the Engineering lab team to build, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain the electrical manufacturing files and data up to date and provide access to correct files for purchasing purposes.
  • Focal point for customer troubleshooting and technical support resolution
  • Assist in obtaining regulatory approvals (UL/CE and related global agencies) for new products.
  • Develop outlines for user manuals for print and web that include detailed how-to, maintenance, troubleshooting.
  • Work with patent office, control agencies and other outside parties to protect intellectual property.
  • Collaborate with global suppliers to meet the technical, quality and cost goals of new and existing products.
  • Some travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • BS degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution (MS preferred).
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory approvals & testing process UL & CE.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, Proteus Design or other PCB design software (Altium preferred).
  • Working knowledge of LT Spice, or LAB View or other simulation software.
  • Strong knowledge of Analogue and Digital Design including microprocessors/microcontrollers, programmable logic, embedded firmware/software, PCB design and design for EMC, Schematic capture, PCB and simulation.
  • A good understanding of EMI/EMC concepts and mitigation to comply with global standards.
  • Microprocessor programming experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work from verbal or written instructions.
  • Must be able to follow all safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

SALARY

  • $125,000 – $150,000
