JOB SUMMARY

The Product Manager will be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals. This is a new, full time position in our company and initially will report to the CEO.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the product strategy and roadmap of LiteGear
  • Assist in the planning, development, and marketing introduction of new lighting products
  • Lead the LiteGear Product Development Process
  • Understand and respond to the full Product Life Cycle
  • Develop robust product strategies to guide making the right product and product portfolio decisions
  • Coordinates internal and external communication and training on LiteGear lighting products
  • Researches light sources and lighting technology, with an eye for applicability to current and future product development
  • Conducts market research for new products
  • Creates specifications for new products
  • Provides technical input for the international marketing of new product launches and marketing campaigns
  • Performs product demonstrations and conducts key customer visits as required
  • Work directly with engineers to design and bring to market lighting products and accessories
  • Work with LiteGear teams using Waterfall, Agile, or a combination of other tools to drive product development
  • Deliver market and product requirement documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Coordinates product beta and pilot programs with customers and partners. Documents and integrates feedback into the product development group
  • Insure the LiteGear standards of quality and uniqueness are upheld in new products
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Act as a leader within the company
  • Travel domestically and internationally to attend tradeshows, visit customers, and other business-related activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experienced in technology research and testing, particularly with light sources, optics, thermal systems, and materials necessary preferred.
  • Experienced with entertainment lighting hardware, particularly with film, television, and event applications preferred.
  • Understanding of basic lighting principles, including illumination, color theory, and optics as they pertain to entertainment lighting systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Effective troubleshooter with customers.
  • Ability to work independently, quickly under pressure, multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English in a professional manner.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined.
  • Must be detail oriented, exhibit strong organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or related degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent, or innovative products.
  • 5 years of experience as product manager within a growth-oriented organization.
  • Experience in the lighting, manufacturing, or production industry preferred.
