JOB SUMMARY

The position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with responsibilities that include accounting principles, financial analysis, journal entry and complete understanding of accounting functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, track and answer questions pertaining to accounting and its overall functions to run an effective workflow
  • Assigning and auditing work of the accounting staff to develop, implement, and maintain one or more combination of generally accepted accounting systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize, analyze data, think clearly, and problem solve.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, along with great leadership abilities.
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management
  • Ability to understand contracts and determine the proper accounting treatment
  • Assist with various accounting and process improvement projects. Conduct Day to Day operations that will provide support to month end reporting
  • Initiate and oversee direction to daily task, and effectively communicate with team, relevant departments, and management
  • Knowledge of inventory management, creating and auditing Po’s, SO’s, and Invoices
  • A/P & A/R Operations including communication with customers and vendors
  • Overseeing basic accounting procedures (A/R & A/P, time billing, P/R, G/L, tax payments and inventory control
  • Must be familiar with inventory management functions such as creating Builds of materials for multiple inventory locations, Inventory adjustments and Landed Costs
  • Train and manage staff in day-to-day accounting functions, including planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks is required, Knowledge and Familiarity with Zendesk preferred
  • Team player with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, work independently and be decisive
  • Experience in preparing financial Reports
  • Position is at midlevel accounting focus, assisting in higher level accounting, assisting management
  • Experience in auditing accounts to ensure proper compliance with state and federal regulations.; concerning sales tax and other related compliances
  • Coordinate with Outside Auditors and provide needed information for the annual external audit
  • Communicate with customers regarding past due invoices, providing weekly updated status to management
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Trains and retains skilled accounting staff
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 2+ years of previous, strong leadership & supervisory skills
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and organizational skills (Required)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work and effectively and communicate with other departments across the organization
  • Ability to work effective & independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Prior experience in a rapidly growing and changing business environment

EDUCATION DESIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree with Accounting/Finance
  • 2-5 years’ experience managing people and process / 2 years of strong management skills
  • 5 years of related experience in accounting
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent written and Verbal Communication skills
  • Excellent Organizational and time management skills
